For many, a house is more than just a home. And for Wee How (@quakweehow) and Joycelyn (@joycelynthiang), it’s a place for them to celebrate their togetherness, in the warmth of each other’s company. As they open up their home and their hearts, we take a look at how they spend their time with each other within the four walls.

Which part of the house do you both find yourselves at the most?
Wee Hao & Joycelyn: Definitely the living room! We love watching TV and we always sit by the sofa to have all our meals with the television on.
What is winding down like for both your husband and yourself?
WH & J: Lighting a calming candle at the end of the day as we relax on the couch, watching our favourite Korean variety shows.

Is there anything you still hope to add to the decor/house in near future to mark a milestone?
WH & J: I think we might add an art piece to change up the decor a bit!

What is the fondest part/memory of your home?
WH & J: The kitchen – both Wee How and I don’t know how to cook and we made such a mess the first time cooking Aglio Olio, but at the end of it all, we had a lot of fun. Also, the pasta came out pretty good!

Which part of your home is where you guys find yourself connecting with each other the most?
WH & J: The bedroom. Right before we go to bed, we’d tell each other about our day and it is where our conversations are deeper and more intimate.

How was it like working together on the home that you guys have built?
WH & J: It was a breeze! I expected us to have plenty of conflicts when it comes to design or furniture pieces but turns out we both love the same styles. It was also interesting to work on a “project” together and we got to see each other in a different light (in a good way).

What does ‘home’ mean to you?
WH & J: For me, home is a place where I feel safe, loved and at ease.

Nothing beats coming back to the warmth of your home at the end of a long day, lifting the load off your shoulders, and letting go of all the pressure with your person, there with you by your side.
Here’s to love — the kind that transforms a house into much more. As the saying goes, there truly is no place like home.
